Teaching

My teaching philosophy encompasses two basic tenets: 1) My classroom should be a space that fosters challenging conversations that encompass all reasonable and informed points of view, and that motivates students to confront, interrogate, and revise their beliefs and opinions as they continue to learn from me and one another. 2) My job as an educator is to ensure that I foster and develop skills that allow students to critically read, write, and apply the material in my class to their personal and professional lives. In short, my aim is to prepare well-informed, critical-thinking, and reflective citizens.
